A Sporting Success at The Linden Academy

Sport, Teamwork and School Pride

Some of our pupils have recently taken part in a range of sporting opportunities including football, badminton, and multisports. Across every event, pupils showed respect, integrity, teamwork, and pride in representing the school. Their maturity, determination, and sportsmanship have been outstanding.

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils recently took part in an exciting badminton competition, where they demonstrated excellent racket control, quick footwork, and thoughtful shot selection. The standard of play was fantastic, with pupils competing in close, competitive matches while showing great determination and sportsmanship. We were incredibly proud of how they supported one another and represented the school throughout the event.

Alongside the competition, our Year 5 & 6 pupils have also been diving into exciting multisports opportunities. During their Play and Learn session, they explored a range of activities designed to build fundamental skills such as coordination, agility, teamwork, and communication. The enthusiasm and effort on display were fantastic, with pupils fully embracing the chance to challenge themselves and develop new abilities.

Not to be outdone, our Year 1 & 2 children have also been enjoying their own multisports experiences. Through fun, engaging activities and games, they have been developing key movement skills including balance, throwing, catching, and spatial awareness. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they try new activities, support their peers, and most importantly, have fun while staying active.

As part of our commitment to high-quality PE and sport, The Linden Academy engages with the national Your School Games programme, which promotes physical activity, competition, and helping young people achieve their personal best.
